My favorite is the Albondigas! It's a meatball soup with vegetables and so delicious! The chicken enchiladas here are great too! The servers are always attentive making sure you're satisfied with your food and refilling your water glass or asking if you want more beverage. Prices are reasonable and all the employees are always very pleasant.

Stopped at this restaurant on the way to Bishop and was pleasantly surprised. The food was authentic Mexican and tasted just like home in San Diego. My wife had a beef taco and tamale and for a 5 foot two woman she ate it all :-) I had a beef taco and Tostado with rice and beans, tasted great and filled me up. We had chips, salsa and guacamole. The chips and guac were amazing. The salsa wasn't really that hot for me, but then again could be for someone else . There's plenty of parking off the main street. I took a picture of the front door because it's around the front and it's a little hard to find if you don't know what to look. They have a full bar and two rooms for drinking and dining. They have a new patio, but are not allowed to serve alcoholic beverages outside as of yet, although they have applied. Highly recommend this if you need Mexican food, fix food and service with a smile Forgot to add we had two mango margaritas and as you can see from the pictures they were massive. :-)

Vegan? This place has one of the best vegan burritos I've ever had. Highly recommend a side of guacamole and rice too. Great atmosphere! Really really good food. And again, great vegan options! I was in town a week and ate here twice.

Rarely am I disappointed with a Mexican restaurant in California. My wife ordered steak and I had a fajita, so it's very hard to go wrong with either, as both always taste great. However, what stood out about Olvera's was that the salsa was probably the best I have ever tasted (and I usually don't even like salsa very much). This made the tortilla chips seem like part of the meal, rather than a way to kill time while the meal is cooking. Also, the beans and rice had a noticeably delicious flavor. I was quite happy that we picked this place. If you go in the evening, though, don't be surprised if it looks closed from outside; the interior is dimly lit.

Went here as a recommendation from a friend. He suggested the chili Verde. It didn't disappoint. The pork simply fell apart. The portions were large but not too much. I know this is silly but the salsa on the chips and salsa appetizer that they give you for free was really good. I would also recommend the horchata. The service was quick and friendly. Glad I went to this place.
